It's a different world now than it was when I was a teenager. The issues and dangers are more complicated. I didn't have social media when I was a teenager. I remember we got AOL when I was a freshman in college. None of my friends really knew much about the potential or dangers of the internet. Many of my daughter's peers have social media accounts long before they turn thirteen. I suppose their parents set up the account with a fake birthday. I'm not sure what the rush is.
