I am excited to share with you today about an organization that my family has been giving to for over 2 decades now: World Vision.
I will never forget the first year that my Aunt Pam gave me a card for Christmas and inside of it was a note telling me that a village in Africa was given a goat in my name to help them have a sustainable food source. I cannot tell you how great that made me feel. For the last two decades it has been a family tradition of ours to give gifts to family and close friends from the World Vision Gift Catalog.
Since 1996, the World Vision Gift Catalog has grown in popularity as a gift-giving alternative. Last year alone, more than 650,000 people were helped through funds generated by the Catalog. Want to see where your money goes? Check out this video from World Vision to learn more.
The 2016 World Vision Gift Catalog contains more than 250 poverty-fighting gifts, ranging in price from $16 to $39,000, that improve the quality of life for struggling children and families in the U.S. and around the world.
Here is a sampling of the wonderful gifts you can gift from this year’s World Vision Gift Catalog:
- refugee response
- hope for sexually exploited girls
- clean water
- goat + chickens
- clothing for children
- shared deep well
- hand-crafted gifts (like those in my photo above)
- and much more!
I hope that you will consider giving gifts this year that will help the lives of others. We are thankful for their mission of being a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. And we love their transparency when it comes to the financial aspects of our giving. They are a joy to work with!
